I nearly got scammed at Walmart yesterday

Yesterday, I had to put on my handyman hat and fix a door hinge that's been slightly offset recently.

Turns out, the screws from the bottom hinge on the frame side have been missing for who knows how long, and it became an issue.

So I hopped in the Santa Fe and took a drive down to Walmart to kill 2 birds with one stone:

  1. Get some new screws to get the door in order
  2. Pick up some protein powder since I just ran out

Once I got there, I was able to locate the screws easily.

Pretty sure I bought the exact cheap hinge kit the rental company used lol

Then I head on over to the supplement section to pick up the usual:

1.5lbs of Optimum Nutrition Vanilla Ice Cream whey for $32, which is already a crazy price especially for Walmart.

But when I got to the aisle, something looked a little bit different.

I didn't know if my mind was playing tricks on me, so I called my wife to check the empty tub I didn't throw away for some reason.

I guess this was the reason...

Because Walmart started selling the 1.09lbs tub for $30 in the 2 weeks since my last pickup.

Ended up going with Ghost protein which was closer to what I usually got at 1.3lbs...

But this is just nuts.

If this isn't a bad economic sign, I don't know what is...

Some may say I'm blowing this out of proportion, but the only thing that's truly blown out of proportion is the cost of living versus wages.

One of the many reasons I'm building a second income on the internet and doing whatever I can to help others do the same.

On the lighter side, the door is fixed and buttery smooth and I got my protein so I'm grateful for that.

Talk soon,

P.S. I'm usually an even leveled individual and not much bothers me for more than a moment. However, I got double slapped yesterday with the protein fiasco...

And the fact that my day job "fixed" the commission structure this month so both low performers and high performers get paid more. But since I'm doing well in a mid-volume store, it's nearly impossible to hit a bonus which just about doubles commission.

More fuel for the fire...
